For writers

A platform that respects your work, your readers, and your time.

Empirq is built for technical writers who've watched their math break on general-purpose newsletter platforms, their code lose its formatting in blogging tools, or burned a weekend on a static-site theme that still doesn't render math inline. We built the fix.

Core capabilities

Everything a technical writer actually needs.

No reaching for plugins. No copy-paste hacks. No "workaround for math rendering." All of this ships in the editor on day one.

Inline + block LaTeX, server-rendered.

Type $f(x) = \frac{1}{1+e^{-x}}$ and it renders inline as you write. Block math gets full display treatment. Math renders on the server — readers never see a flash of unrendered backslashes.

Code blocks with proper highlighting.

Editor-grade syntax highlighting, rendered server-side. Python, Rust, TypeScript, CUDA, Mojo, Julia, and 30+ more. No client-side JS bundle. Your code looks right the moment the page paints.

Subfield-based discovery.

Tag your post with one of 25+ curated AI/ML subfields. Readers find your work because they were already looking for that exact subfield, not because an algorithm decided to surface it.

Full articles that land in the inbox.

Every post is delivered to your subscribers as a complete technical email — code blocks, math, headings, and formatting preserved — with authenticated delivery that lands in inboxes. We don't throttle or “boost.”

Stripe Connect, money straight to you.

Subscribers pay you via your own connected Stripe account. Funds settle directly to your bank on Stripe's standard schedule (~2 business days for US). Empirq never holds your money.

Export everything, anytime.

Posts as Markdown + assets, subscribers as CSV. One click in settings, no email required. If you leave Empirq, you take everything with you.

Editor

An editor that doesn't fight you.

A purpose-built editor with first-class support for math, code, and embeds. Markdown shortcuts work. Paste from anywhere works. Auto-save runs every 8 seconds.

/01

Slash commands.

Type /code to insert a code block, /math for an equation, /quote for a callout. Everything is one keystroke away.
/02

Markdown shortcuts.

## becomes a heading. ```python becomes a code block. $$ opens a math editor. Type the way you think.
/03

Drag-and-drop images.

Drop an image anywhere in your draft. Stored durably, served from a CDN, optimized automatically.
/04

Outline + minimap.

Long posts get an auto-generated outline panel. Jump between sections without scrolling. Stays in sync as you edit.
/05

Auto-save + version history.

Auto-save every 8 seconds, with the last 10 saves kept automatically. Tab away mid-paragraph and your work is safe.
/06

Preview mode.

Open a private preview of any draft — paywall behavior, rendered math and code, and the real article URL — before a single subscriber sees it.
/07

Private scratchpad + task list.

Every draft gets a private scratchpad — outline ideas, stash cut paragraphs, and keep a checkable to-do list beside your work. Only you see it; it never ships with the published post.
Workflow

From application to first published article in five steps.

  1. 1

    Apply.

Tell us about your writing — link to your past work, pick your AI/ML subfields, share what you'd publish first. We review every application personally; you'll hear back within 5 business days.
  2. 2

    Set up your publication.

Pick a slug (e.g. empirq.com/your-name), upload an avatar, write a short bio. Choose subscription tiers and pricing — or stay free-only. Takes about 10 minutes.
  3. 3

    Connect Stripe.

One-click Stripe Connect Express onboarding. You'll need ID verification and a bank account. Most writers complete this in under 15 minutes.
  4. 4

    Write and publish.

Open the editor, write your post, hit publish. It goes live, gets indexed under your chosen subfields, and emails to your subscribers automatically.
  5. 5

    Enable subscriptions when you're ready.

Turn on paid subscriptions when it suits you — set your price, choose which posts are free or subscriber-only, and get paid when readers support your work. Payouts reach your bank on Stripe's standard schedule (~2 business days for US accounts), and you can track subscriber growth and post performance in your dashboard.
