Community Guidelines

These guidelines explain how we expect people to behave in comments on Empirq.

This page is informational. It explains how Empirq applies its Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, or other applicable policies, but it does not change those documents or create any additional obligation or right. If this page differs from the governing terms or policies, the governing terms or policies control. The binding rules on what may be posted are in Section 6 of the Terms of Service.

The rules

  • Don't threaten, harass, or abuse anyone.
  • Don't post hate speech, promote violence, or discriminate against people based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Don't post spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or automated comments.
  • Don't impersonate anyone or misrepresent who you're affiliated with.
  • Don't share someone else's personal information without their consent.

These are the ones that come up in comments. The full list is in Section 6 of the Terms of Service.

If a comment breaks them

Writers can hide comments on their own posts. Readers then see the comment as “[hidden by the writer]”.

Anyone signed in can report someone else’s comment to Empirq from the menu on that comment. Reports go to the Empirq team, not to the writer. Empirq may also remove comments at its discretion, as the Terms of Service describe.
